Massachusetts court certifies class action against CRST Expedited
MAY 25, 2018 | WAGES + OVERTIME, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS
Chief Justice Patti B. Saris of the Massachusetts United States District Court certified a class likely to include over 15,000 individuals who have worked as drivers for CRST Expedited on wage claims under both the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and Iowa’s wage laws. Those claims allege that the drivers who worked for CRST Expedited were the victims of unfair and deceptive business practices, and were charged usurious interest rates by CRST Expedited for purported debts that the company claimed the drivers owed them.
