Prior to joining Fair Work, Rachel worked at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she represented primarily immigrant employees in cases of unpaid wages and failure to pay overtime. She also provided legal support to community-based organizations and coalitions advocating for immigrant worker rights. Rachel's work at GBLS was funded by the Skadden Fellowship Program (sometimes referred to as the "Legal Peace Corps"). Rachel designed her Skadden project to help employees of temporary staffing agencies, who are jointly employed by a temp agency and a worksite employer, assert their workplace rights.

Rachel is a graduate of Boston University School of Law, where she was awarded the Warren S. Gilford Humanity and Law Prize for her commitment to public service. Prior to law school, Rachel worked on state health policy and in local government. She holds a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University, where she concentrated in economics and public policy, and a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology from Carleton College.

Having grown up in the heartland, Rachel is happy to discuss "What's the Matter with Kansas" with just about anyone.
